    2020 Legislative Update presented by Peter Gore, Executive VP, Maine State Chamber of Commerce

    2020 Legislative Update

    Peter Gore currently serves as  Vice-President for Advocacy and Government Relations with the Maine State Chamber of Commerce.  He will share what we might expect in Second Special Session of the 129th Maine legislature. He will discuss new and pending carry-over legislation impacting healthcare, labor, and workplace bills of interest to human resource professionals and Maine businesses. Peter will also give an update on committees, the session outlook and how the landscape looks as we enter the upcoming political/election year. Peter represents the Chamber's network of more than 5,000 business members before the Maine Legislature, the Office of the Governor, and the public in the areas of workers' compensation law, labor/management issues, healthcare/health insurance and economic development.

    Bio - Peter Gore is an Executive Vice-President with the Maine State Chamber of Commerce.  Peter has served at the Chamber since 1994, initially as the Senior Governmental Affairs Specialist, and since 2008, as the Vice President for Advocacy and Government Relations. In this capacity, Gore represents the Chamber's network of more than 5,000 business members before the Maine Legislature, the Office of the Governor, and the public in the specific areas of workers' compensation law, labor/management issues, and healthcare/health insurance and economic development topics. Peter is a graduate of the University of Maine at with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and a minor in Sociology.
