Program Description: This program intends to impart strategies that empower managers to better support the mental health of their employees. Creating a culture of psychological safety allows for increased employee engagement and retention. We will look at the current state of mental health in the workplace, discuss ways of establishing a culture of acceptance as well as discuss tangible tools for addressing substance use, anxiety and depression with employees. This presentation is designed to educate HR managers on resources and creative options for supporting the mental health of their employees.
Learning Objectives:
- Discuss the reality of pervasive mental health issues and how that impacts workplace culture
- Identify ways to promote a culture of acceptance while maintaining workplace purpose and productivity
- Learn interpersonal skills to manage challenging situations that your staff may be experiencing
